One of the more amusing elements of attending a gigantic tradeshow like CES
is the sheer and often befuddling disregard for grammar, spelling, and outright
colloquialism known as Engrish. Once the popular domain of Japanese imports,
this most innocent of cultural misunderstandings has spread to our friends in
China, Korea, India, and just about any nation or people with an honest desire
to communicate (or sell) in our native language.
Of course, if you can afford a few plane tickets, hotel rooms, and glossy
printed brochures, you can probably afford a spell check. Just saying.
That said, there's no disrespect intended towards any of the companies who
made this most ignoble of lists, and its in this spirit we present a sampling of
some of the more gut-busting examples of misspelled photos, excited
exclamations, and downright funny turns of phrases. We're all human here, and
nobody is perfact.
