Apart from the endless chatter, electric distractions, and scores of
tight-closed and courteous female 'friends' all vying for my attention,
wandering the halls CES can be rewarding. Take Taiwanese company Genius for
instance: they make everything from card readers to webcams, and also score big
points with me since they make Graphic Tablets, too. I couldn't help but take
notice of their wares as this was my first time seeing them in person,
especially the EasyPen Graphics Tablet (M610X), which appears
to be a solid alternative to a Wacom Intuos4 with four express keys and
programmable shortcuts, 1024 levels of pressure, and a respectable 6”x10” work
area.
I would’ve loved see how the EasyPen compared to Wacom’s offering but time
constraints and other distractions didn't allow it. The reps at the booth - and
particularly the awesome demo artist hard at work - were all friendly and we'll
do our best to secure a review unit in the upcoming months. I’m pretty
interested in seeing how Genius stacks up to the competition.
