But is it logical?
The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly has the goods on many a new film
product that'll be showing its stuff at this year's San Diego Comic Con, which
includes a few tantalizing snaps at J.J. Abrams controversial re-imagining of
the original Star Trek cast. Unfortunately, while head studio Paramount
always sees fit to release new Star Trek films, they never really go the
distance when it comes to supporting them. The film (and nearly all
promotion) will be absent from the show, save for a few choice handouts to nerds
and fans alike. The four different images available will, when placed
together, form the famous Star Fleet Insignia you see just below. Peachy
keen.
Clockwise we have Eric Bana as Nero, Zoe Saldana as the new Uhura, Zachary
Quinto as the new Spock (love the ears), and of course Chris Pine in what's got
to be the least enviable job in the universe, replacing William Shatner as James
T. Kirk. Sorry about the first (and thus far, only) blurred up image from
the newly recast Enterprise Crew, but if you're wanting more and don't want to
wait until the film drops next summer, go bug Paramount. Personally, this
one has Winter Holiday Release all over it, and it would be sad to see yet
another Trek fail at the box office due to mishandling.
Special thanks to
EW.com for the image!
