Hello, Dolly!

After a somewhat disappointing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix theatrical take, it looks like the team responsible for bringing everyone's favorite boy/teen wizard to life isn't slowing down anytime soon, and that of course means upping the danger quotient considerably.  We all knew it had to happen someday, sometime, but J.K. Rowling's immensely popular saga of Harry Potter is beginning to close its long, long cinematic journey and we're in the throngs of the last few films.  As such, each snippet in some ways becomes more precious knowing it'll be among the last, and with that aside behind me, let's take a look at the first teaser-trailer for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

First off, notice how little (if any) the title character appears in his own trailer.  Let there be no question who's show this is, as He Who Shall Not Be Named (Voldemort, if you're brave) takes center-stage, albeit in premature, boy form.  With some subtle and some less subtle hints at the darkness to come, those who've read and reread the second-to-last novel in the franchise know quite well what lay ahead, and all that entails.  Other than evil incarnate taking the cake, Dumbledore finally gets his own Lord of the Rings/Gandalf moment to showcase his awesomeness, and when that familiar John Williams jingle kicks in...all is right in this strange world of magic.  Click below for the whole thing, and get ready for the beginning of the end...
